mosquito question

probably a stupid question, but its incredibly wet in my neck of the woods this year and the mosquito population is beyond healthy. went to feed my pup the other night and the poor bugger had a bunch on his face ive seen me wipe what looks like 100 of the little bastards off my lab before. just wondering if anyone has any little trickd they try or is it something the dogs jmust have to live with??
