dog with green line tattoo

Do any of you guys out there know whats going on or what the story might be with a green line tattoo'd on a dogs belly? I bought and older female walker that has this.

U.R.E is 100% correct. Some vets do the year like 08 some will do a line some will do a number. but if it is GREEN she is spayed......

yeah i could tell she was fixed from the scar but i just thought there mighht be more to it
