Artificial Breeding
Just curious to those who have bought frozen semen from breeders. Besides the price of the semen. Anyone have a ball park figure what a vet would charge to have the procedure done?

Re: Artificial Breeding
It depends on what kind of procedure you want done. If you have the vet do the AI vaginally it would probably cost about $100. This way can sometime not be as successful because the semen has to be thawed and many of the swimmers die in the process. You can have it done surgically. That is where they put the dog under and take out her uterin horns and inject the semen directly into them. This ensures that the eggs will more likely get fertilized. The down side is that the procedure will cost around $600 give or take. Hope this helps.
