Part One: Getting to know you.
Through a special collaboration with The Humane Society of the United States, the Parellis will use their transformational training methods to help rescued horses find forever homes! At each Celebration, The HSUS will work with a local rescue group to help a horse in need of training through a three-day development program with Pat Parelli. Rather than just solving problems, you?ll see what the steps are from ground to riding. What Pat Parelli can do in a few hours can take months for many of us, so watching him over the three days is like using time-lapse photography. At the end of each Celebration, the rescued horse will be offered for adoption to a loving, approved home. The Humane Society of the United States believes that Parelli is an important part of the answer in promoting successful horse-human relationships that are built on love and understanding.

Mahatma Ghandi said, "The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated." When we don't know how to 'get' to that horse's heart and win his trust and respect, all kinds of problems can be the result and the worst consequence is that out of desperation the horse gets sold into a bad home or is abandoned, neglected or sold for slaughter.

As stewards of the horse it is our responsibility to make the right choices and learn how to be successful with horses. Not only does this make a better world for horses, it's how you can live your dream instead of your nightmare. Nobody gets a horse with bad intentions but many of us end up against the wall simply because we're not taught the very things we need to know.

If you watch nothing else over the three days, this series with Pat Parelli will be one of the most impactful education series ever. Pat Parelli has always been an Idiot... His gimicky show and tapes has made him alot of money.. which is alright, but have you seen the people that buy that crap.. the principles he uses are the same we've been using for years although not near as "touchy feely" as he does it.. I absolutely can't stand to listen to the guy or his wife.. he belongs over there with the HSUS maybe now people will know what he is all about..

Doesn't surprise me a bit, based on his promotional techniques and the crowd he runs with. He plays the fuzzy, feel good thing to the max. Same as the HSUS, his audience is mostly women and wanna be men.

I have been in the horse industry my entire life. That guy is a joke. He should be training dogs NOT horses. IF you want a animal to sit, fetch or stand on it hind legs ( and think it is NATURAL). GET A FREAKING DOG…

It does not surprise me at all that he would be supporting the HSUS. OH, and why wouldn’t he. He has most of the NATURAL ANIMAL loving people following him any ways. That image is better for his pocket book. I live 30 min from Portland and I tell you, I screen every person that comes into my barn and if they lean to the “NATURAL” Horsemanship side a little to hard to the left they do not come in.

I'm a full time farrier and any time a new client calls to get their horse shod and tells me all is well because the horse has been through the Parelli crapfest, I don't even go. All the BS "games" he teaches are a fantastic way for a wanna-be horseman to get his azz killed by his horse.

This son of a gun is slicker than snot on the door knob! I mean it! This guy is good, he has fleeced so many and they keep coming back for more you can't say this guy doesn't have a talent.

No Sir, if this was the old west Mr. Pat's traveling snake oil show would come a rattling down the road and all them old farm and ranch women would be putting vanilla behind there ears to run out meet this good looking, dashing promoter.

Now I know I am jealous. I have been out in the horse poop all day working with colts in the heat nobody to groom or wash them for me or get them all ready so I can step on and jump a barrier or some dumb thing to the applause of the gals in the bleachers.

Listen I am not saying Pat panders to a female crowd but if you have ever been around one of his clinics where he makes a regular cicuit you will see 75% females. I don't know why do you?

I read the book about Monty Roberts and I almost got sick to my stomach and then for some reason when this guy comes along I sort of have flash back don't know why.


I am not much on all of this but I do think there are some good guys out there and I think the late Ray Hunt was a hand as were both the Dorrance brothers. Buit the almighty dollar sure can make for some weird company and this Humane Society is anything but humane.

Just the fact that you think Pat Parrelli is a good looking dude is hillarious. Personally, as a lady myself I do not think so, but whatever cranks your engine.

I have met and worked with a lot of horseman in my day. I have watched Ray Hunt's clinic.... Not as a paying customer. He had a clinic at one of the stables I worked at. I knew Tom Dorrance as I used to live in Salinas, CA and he was one of the old timers that helped me geld one of my randy little stud colts.... I can tell you the Humane Society would have had a fit seeing that done.

As for Pat Parelli, I have never met him, don't care to ever meet him. I learned what I know from some of the best horseman, both old time cowboys that are not on this earth anymore and some of the best Show Jumping equestrians in the world.... Not a one of them ever used Parrelli's natural touch.

Getting back to Mike's post about Parrelli and the ladies..... Maybe he has the natural touch with them too..... You might just have to go attend a clinc and see what his secret is

Yes ol' Pat is slick as hammered dog poo, but I guess the reason for my posting was in the hopes that even if we all don't like him to begin with. Hopefully we could all still take the time to write him a quick nasty gram about teaming up with the HSUS, we have to hammer these people(AR's) in EVERY thing they do! Wars are not won by the apathetic side. The way I see it here is an awesome opportunity to educate people on the real HSUS. Like Ray Hunt said "you got to make the right thing easy and the wrong thing difficult"...
