Frontline and itching

Post by jimmyd »

I have a year old female that does a fair amount of scratching. She is on frontline. Are there any bugs such as mites or something that Frontline wouldn't affect? She doesn't scratch herself raw but it is more than normal. The rest of the hounds are fine.

My quess would be allergies. A mange remedy that I have used succesfully is to mix a bucket of warm water with Borax power and with some peroxide. As much Boras as will disolve in the water. Mix another bowl of Borax and water into a paste thickness. Sponge the dog throughly with the water solution. Keep the dog from shaking as much as possible while rubbing in the paste formula. Repete in 3 days, then every week until the dog is cleared up. If it kills mange mites, it will also kill other mites as well IMO. One thing good is it want hurt the dog in any way, and is cheap enough to try.
