Does it have SW mode? You can only track the collars using SW mode. I looked into many scanners before I bought my VR-500 most that out made dont have SW on them so they will not work.

Bigboarstopper, I use the Icom and couldnt be happier. But you have to use the amp with it. It seems to work everywhere I go. I got mine on the coondawg web for 300 with amp, two antennas and the icom. Just a thought..

Icom R10............I just sold a system about a week ago. Someome on the UKC forum has one for sale right now.

Not sure about the SW mode comment. I always used it in the LSB or CW mode depending on the terrain and which mode picked up better.

I think the cw and the sw are the same? I know its has something to do with morse code. One of the CB guys at work was saying thats what the collars put out and it has to be picked up in CW or constant wave? I really dont know much about it only what the CB guru's have to say.

I did not see the cw mode listed on the 120d. Not sure if you would get the beep you need without it.

It is the CW mode you need to track dogs with beep beep collars. The 120 does not have it. you can track them with any scanner or radio that will allow the channel. You will just have a much reduced range without cw! There are only a few scanners that have that. The vr500 is about the cheapest you can get.
