Hellow Folks!
We have been having discussions on here ref. the "Hunters Horn" magazine and the type of Hounds that are being advertised and promoted there.
I just ran across this article from 1954 that addresses Fieldtrialing Hounds as opposed to Real Hunting hounds. The auther points out where a FT (tranlate that into todays Pen bred hounds) differ from a Hound that has to run his game outside by himself or with a limited number of hounds in his own pack! His thoughts were pertainent then and NOW!
We have said before that http://www.foxhoundspastandpresent.com is a great resource for all things Hound, Ms. Rose Mccurdy is truly a treasure for all Houndsmen and women!
