Rookies trying bear

OK we are going to give it a shot. A friend has a couple baits that are being hit and we have a fresh bear hide and a couple dogs. This is the plan to work with the dogs the next couple days with the hide take them to a bait cut them loose on a fresh track tree a bear! SIMPLE!!! :lol:

Ya OKOK it will probably go like this...cut the dogs loose on the bear hide drag...look for them for 6hrs...cut them loose on the bear drag again...look for them for 12 hrs...wake up early on friday drive 2hrs to the baits drop them on a fresh bear track (if we are smart enough to tell what a "fresh" track is) they go nuts and line out on the track...we walk several hrs through a ceder swamp and get to the dogs at the tree and take pictures of a raccoon...

OK here is my walker not very good pics but that is a bear ass hanging from that tree. She would get a little excited at first and then jumping up and trying to rip it out of the tree after about 15 min. I took it down after about 20 min seemed like she was loosing intrest. Well atleast she knows what bear ass smells like and had a mouthfull of fur. Next is robbysons dog.

hahahah well for the sake of both of us i hope your first story fits like a glove. buuuuutttt as most folks know thats just not how hound hunting goes. im sure itll be a long day for us but we will have fun. i figure we cant find anyone to run bears with so we might as well try it with our pups. hows that hide smell anyways? hopefully its still got some good scent on it for utah. we will see what happens. if its not raining ill see ya in the morning

ahhh yea right maybe. what in the hell are you doing up on your day off at 5 am. we might have to do it next week. maybe thursday morning before i go to work and then we can go up friday morning. the only thing thats gonna kinda suck is if theres any coons on those baits im pretty sure we will be running them. ill be cooniing thursday night with tibby. its the first night that were gonna have to get out and hunt em. so i dont know. we will give it a shot for sure. let me know. gotta head to dicks and buy me some stuff at some point

OK we gave it a shot today but the baits didnt pan out there was little activity around them so we shot a couple birds and then worked with the dogs on a scent drag and came home.
