Getting Started

Post by lmorgan »

I'm new to intentional bobcat hunting. I've coon hunted for 30 years and ran quite a few bobcat in my time, it was never intentional. To be honest, I'm not real fond of most of the bobcat trees we've made at night over the years. They usually involved going places that I never intended to go and dragging in just about enough time to take a shower and go to work.

Now, in my old age, I'm getting bored with coon hunting (and trashing on bobcats) and thought I might like to give cat hunting in the daytime a try. I live in the south, so any pointers anyone can give me about running and treeing bobcats in this kind of terrain is greatly appreciated. Of course, I already know that I need to start with the hounds. I'm working on that part. What I need to know is the best time to hunt, the kind of terrain that is most conducive to bobcat habitat, where my chances of striking a track are, etc.

Mr. Morgan,

Try Cocaine or Maybe Crystal Meth either will less addicting, cost you less money, wreck your family slower, and ruin your mental health slower than Bobcat Hunting!

If you re still interested call and come see us in AR, Harold Parker in MS, Gerald Page around Poplarville, MS, or Jim Moore around Lake Charles. Any one of us would be glad to try and help you!

Thanks for the help. I've been hound hunting for 30+ years, so I figure I already know about addiction. I'm not that far from Poplarville. Do you have any contact information for Mr. Page?
