I went the first day and we ran three, only treed one. It was a 150lb boar. That is definately some steep country down there. Big difference from the mountains where i normally hunt.

I see bears frequently within a mile of the house but cant hunt em because of private land. I drive 15 miles.

The difference is in maine you are looking for the one deer in a 5 mile section.

In Virginia you are looking for one of the 500 deer in a five mile section.

I know this is off topic- but- on the subject of gas taxes, I have always thought that the gas tax was based on a gallon and not by the dollar value of that gallon. If this is true then the excuse of raising the taxes because it is so cheap will not fly. - I must be wrong-
