Im in the Texas Hill country, and i take my hog dogs to NM. and run bear with them every Fall. They do great and will put a bear up a tree. Then they quit when the fight is over, luckily I have ! dog out of my pack that will tree. the rest just kindof look up and whine.

290 lbs Boar (rip Sissy)
Started the night like any other night, hunted a road that I always hunt. Came up empty. Loaded the dogs and headed back out. My rig dog blew up and here is what we ended up with a 290 lb boar and one less dog. http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo192/jjburson/rbsis021.jpg http://i375.photobucket ...

Re: Historic South TX Bobcat & Lion Hunters
Budd, Walter is still alive. I hunt the YO. 4-5 nights a week, and see him quite often. As for Capt. Bob Snow my dad hunted with him in the early 70s

Re: Cut collars with Spikes
I have tried leather cut collers, in years past. The problem that I had with them was getting them wet or sweaty. They got damn stiff, and eventually broke. Try ratchet straps, the wide ones like are used on big rigs. That is what all my cut collars are made out of.
