Re: Lion population in Montana
In the early 90's I could'nt even find 9 tracks in the fish cr. area! Numbers are down in the west! Stay off the gun! Get behind the camera! I agree with you Casey 100% . I can find at least 10 wolf tracks to a lion track! I does'nt take a smart man to figure out who is being the scapegoat in this ...

Re: Lion population in Montana
I have hunted region 1 and 2 while living here in montana the last twenty one years. I harvested my only lion in the Garnet range back in 97. Both regions are different. Region one has more acess as far as roads. There are areas that can be remote. MY point is we need to be able to look at our ...

Re: Lion population in Montana
I agree that it is up to the houndsman to keep our lion population at a healthy number for years to come. But that scares me also. There is alot of guys who do not give a shit about the cats! If they can not kill one every year than they want to up the quota or do away with the permits. To me they ...

Re: montana lion hunting
For shit sake! When is the lion not going to be the scapegoat. The fwp is wanting to make a dent in predators start killing some damn wolves. We can manage the lion that has been proven! If there is over harvest in most of these areas there will be no lions in two years. There is not the food source ...

Re: Where did all the cold nosed walkers go?
I have ran dogs for 26 years now and have always had a finley river in the box. If you look they are there.Cold nosed and track driving dogs. My views are every strand has the possaabilty for a great dog. I use what works. If is not broke do not fix it.The one of my females has finely river both ...
