Re: pup training

Still mouth can put the hurts on other hounds in comp hunts. I have seen a lot of me too dogs in the hunts that cant tree their own coon. If you can tree him and put the five minutes on the tree and have a closed tree before the other dogs come into him you will win.

Re: Awesome training facilty

How can he shoot out coon to your dog everytime it trees. I know if I did that training pups and dogs every night I would run out of coon fast and I have a very good coon population.

Re: traps

Go to trapperman.com Then look in the trap shed. You will find any trap you may need. People do a lot of trading and also make cash deals. Most of the guys I have bought from are honest fellas.

I also buy new traps at trapperswarehouse.com They have great deals on duke traps, buy a dozen at regular ...

Re: coon wont go in live trap

I would say it's the bait, try something different. Something with molasses and squirt molasses in the entrance and a lot. It will pull it in the cage. Try pond fish food pellets or cat food soaked in molasses. Make sure you put some under the trip pan. Or try this-
Add one can of Jack Mackerel with ...

Re: bait ? for dog proof trap

Also I said you are less likely to catch undesired game such as possum and skunks. Their is still a chance you could catch one of your barn cats, possum or a skunk. I would use cage traps in you situation. The Duke dog proofs might break a cats foot. If you have to go with a DP in the barn due to ...

Re: bait ? for dog proof trap

Do you have to worry about house cats in those traps?
You don't have to worry about house cats if you use the right bait. In the woods you can use cat or dog food, but you will also catch just as many possum and skunks as you do coon. Using the right bait you will only catch coon. You may have one ...
