I have mountain curs and catahulas. I run on coon here in Kansas and go bear hunting in new mexico and arizonia a couple times a year. I really like my mountain curs. My catahulas are from arizonia they do really well they just aren't personable dogs. They sure don't buddy up with me like my curs do.

if your pistol is hard to hit with put a laser on it thats all i use on coons and its a pretty deadly combination thats easy to carry

mix corn and water in a five gallon bucket and sour it it will really bring the coons in but the junk seems to leave it alone thats what i hate about pups and bait is all the trash that comes to it to but the sour corn really seems to bring just coons
