Re: Anyone get any cats yet???
I got to hunt 4 days in the last week and a half and have walked into three lion trees and a bobcat bayup. Nothing big but alot of fun and the dogs are sore. A ton of cold trailing.

Re: cold trailing in cool temps
Ok so I started walking them down the track and they got interested. A couple days ago I found a night old bobcat track in patchy snow and dirt. They lined it out and ran it hard like a bear track. They were showing treed for about 20 minutes but blew out when I was walking in. I found the tree that ...

Re: cold trailing in cool temps
Ok somewhere the post got turned. This is a trained dog, just no bobcat experience. You point and he puts his nose in it. He would drift over the track and each time crossing he would put his nose in and check the track. I say sight trail because this dog is very tight mouthed and I can usually tell ...

Re: cold trailing in cool temps
Good to hear. I will keep trying to get him to take one. Other dogs in his pedigree can consistantly catch bobcats in Arizona. He might have the ingredients to figure it out. If not I will rotate out my other dogs and see if they can come up with something.

cold trailing in cool temps
What are you guessing is too cold of a track to scent trail not sight trail in snow? Scenario around 12 degrees night old track that has frost in it in about 6 inches of snow. Temp has not been over 25 degrees for a couple of days. Humidity around 40%. I ask because I dont really mess with bobcats ...

Re: Running lions with one dog????
I dont post much anymore but I used to own a big walker male around 75lbs that was in serious shape. Looked like he ate gunpowder and steroids. Any way I walked into a tree that had around a 130lb female in the tree. She was startled and ran to the lowest branch and swung with one paw and hooked ...

red tick branded with CW
Does anyone here brand their dogs with a CW on their side. I know of an old red tick that is doing well and wonder what lines he may be out of.

Re: How many dogs needed to hunt lions
I run 3, two finished and one in training. They have stopped everything I wanted them to. A few days ago they stretched about a 100 lb tom. Sure the dogs were beat up but they had worked the lion so hard he didnt want to fight back anymore. I dont condone letting your dogs fight game but eventually ...
