Re: Public horses Owners needed
Suppose you need to define "ride a horse" or "hunt a dog". Wile most can sit on a horse or take a dog to the woods this does not mean they can get the most out of either like a fast car not just anyone can make said car a 10 second vehicle. And even if one was given a 10 second c...

Re: world championship catdog competion
Red baron maybe the race/competition was not necessarily about the speed as far as MPH but rather the time in witch the coarse was completed do to the fact that speed and time tend to go hand and hand? Or do they? such as the tortus and the hair witch I'm sure you are familiar with? Perhaps a race b...

Re: This sport is dead or dying?
Haha red baron you definetly are an interesting fellow. In "my opinion" reason houndsmen are losing their rights is because most houndsmen in MY EXPERIENCE are of the mind set of "I'll do me you do you" they are not the type of people to tell some random person not to do somethin...

Re: This sport is dead or dying?
So "the red baron" correct me if I am wrong but I am assuming you are the former bluetickhounddogger or what ever the screen name was? As stated before in this post from some time ago I'm up for a discussion if you can keep it straight and refrain from side stepping questions with some sor...

Re: uncatchable fox??
Undertheradar I've ran him with as few as 2 dogs to as many as 7. Scrubrunner this fox usually heads for the area he loses dog as soon as he is jumped. There's alot of rock in the area he runs it's a rough spot and if a guy could prevent the fox from hitting that area i believe it would be a diffren...

Re: uncatchable fox??
Yes scrubrunner "catching" him would be a bad ending to a great race. I'd hate to see him go. Sure would like to see him in the tree though. To answere your question on "how does the race end" it ends in a lose or a mess the dogs can't sort out. This fox when they get to driving ...

Re: uncatchable fox??
Mike I have never ran this fox in the day light always in the dark some times I'll trail him up 20 minutes or so. Some times he's red hot or even standing in the road unfortunately the out come is always the same.

Re: uncatchable fox??
Mark that is very true and I think that's what keeps me goin after that fox. I do believe if everything is rite I may get him up but then again I may not as I'm running as many young inexperienced Hounds as I am seasoned hounds. I hope to put him up one day but I am afraid that he may be one of thos...

uncatchable fox??
Well boys I never would have thought that there would be a fox that I felt was uncatchable but i may have met my match... a friend of mine some time ago told me about a fox that he had ran some 20 plus times and could not catch him. he had told me how the fox would run and how this fox was very pred...

Re: lets see those fox and or fox dogs
I'd say 30 40 mins is the average jumped race here. some times you get on one that you can put up in 20 mins or a little less, then there is those fox that are wise to hounds and may run them around for hours.

You grab a hound and take 5 diffrent guys hunting at the same time they all see the dog work they all see the same thing then at the end of the hunt ask the 5 diffrent guys what they think and the value of the hound and I bet you get 5 diffrent opinions on the Hound and 5 diffrent dollar amounts eve...

Re: Jumping out bobcats
Not that i make a habit out of it but i have never had jumping game out affect pups in any negative way and seemed to get pups that were a little week on the tree, to tree harder with that said i do not like to jump cats out that I would not wanna take home as in my limited experience with jumping t...
