Re: Ken Duncan (Dalton Creek Kennels)
Hey everybody,
I was wondering what the common traits are in these duncan dogs. I currently dont have a hound yet but i am working on it. It seems to me that they generally start young, and have big ears. And big ears, which usually meens a good nose? If there is anything i missed or got wrong please inform me.
thanks,
major

You can't go wrong with a Duncan. 11 pages of positive response says enough!

Re: Ken Duncan (Dalton Creek Kennels)
i was just wondering how to get on list to get one of his pups. and wondering which cross's do the best on bear. I have a couple of good male pups right now i need a good female i only have two females and one is ten now and had to be fixed. and i am just looking toward the future you just never know when you might loose one.we lost one of our best male dogs this year he got knocked over a waterfall. and from what i can tell if i want a good black and tan to bear hunt Mr. Duncan is the man to get one from.

Re: Ken Duncan (Dalton Creek Kennels)

Re: Ken Duncan (Dalton Creek Kennels)
I am currently Buying Jim from Colby
Here is a picture to my hound from Ken's line he is out of
Hoss x Jade
Jim is 11 months old born 12/26/2010
I love is coloration he has , he is more of a burnt red coloration then the normal tan he minds very well and handles really well too. His nose is awesome I am very pleased about him Ken sure does know what he is doing when it comes to His Hounds !!!
I like the body configurations The head structure and the the all around appearance of him his long ears too ...
He has a dog of Kens named Cricket in him 2 times and she is out of Duncans 4 time albert who came right from Gene Hicks.
Thats him on the left treed he hunts Coons And Me and him will Make the transition TO lions and bears this spring time together ,
Here is a picture of just him

Re: Ken Duncan (Dalton Creek Kennels)
Wow, its great to see all the hounds and story's posted on here.
I have a 3 year old male not directly out of Kens kennel but a couple generations out, top and bottom heavy Duncan bread (You can see pics of his parents in the very first posts of this thread). He is out of Jim Borans Titan and my Bourban female (Skeeter x Cricket) his name is Lug. He is stout like his sire and push's the 100lb mark.
When I started this thread a few years back I made and honest mistake in not mentioning and giving credit to another breeder that bred closely with Duncan and was a hunting partner to Duncan. Calvin Poll also line bred a lot of the hounds with Duncan each man breeding to their own standards in which sutied them best. Black Canyon Bow being a very popular hound that Duncan eventually owned at the end was originally bred and owned by Calvin. Both gentlemen have bred and raised fine hounds through out the years, I hope all us newby's and younger generations do what we have to do that contribute to keeping these bloodlines alive and going.
