Here's your voice, rlheath@centurytel.net, tell him what you want for the new cougar proposal. As for what you mean by not talking about the 6 counties, they are the only cougar areas we have. But any county can adopt the hunt. Your county commisioners are the ones that make it happen. We need to get every person who sees or comes in contact or conflist with a lion to first call DFW and then call the county commisioners and beg them to adopt this hunt for the safety of the people in the county. Now as for opposums there is no regulated season but I'm sure you would need a hunting license. And as for hunting them when it's not coon season is asking for trouble and would hurt what we will be working on in the next two years. If anyone wants a copy of the cougar rules pm me.... You need to speak out ..................

Who do I speek out to? I'm the only one here. I was not trying to get rid of the 6 counties but if a guy from out of state can now draw a cougar tag then the percent chance of getting drawn goes down. I got drawn last year for one of the public safety hunts and let me tell ya what a joke. Would of had better luck riggin on i-5. About the possum that might be all we have left before too long. I'm just a single guy in a big county!

Join a hound club. I know there are none in Yakima, You can join our club for $30 a year. We are the Lower Columbia Sportsman Alliance. I know you can't come to any meetings but we will keep you updated on what is going on. I will try and keep everything updated right here also. As for the six county thing and out of state guys applying we are working on that as we speak. PM me and I will mail you the fax with the rules change proposal. And then you can email the county commisioner in Ferry county who is working directly with the DFW on these changes. That is his email in the last blog.

You know Buddy I never did get that pamplet for the cougar season that they normally send out so I didn't realize that out of staters could only apply for the boot permit. But reading the regular pamplet the boot hunters can hunt til Nov. 30. So I was under the impression that the DFW wanted to shorten their season to eliminate so many female incounters, and the DFW gave them a season to harvest while deer hunting right? Well they are out of the woods in most units either the 1 or 8 of Dec. so we gave them a special hunt for a month so it would overlap their season by a few days? Sounds like it was done to get $$$$$$$$$ for more cougar applications doesn't it?
