Re: Best stud dog that you know?
Sounds like Smiley is helping Larry come up with more excuses. When Brent posted the bet I knew no one would take it. It is alot of money and it would require these guys to actually have the balls to back up the big mouths.
Smiley, Washington has higher mountains, larger foothills and very dense underbrush on the west slope of the Cascade Mountains. Maybe you have heard of them. If you think there is not some pretty rough country you are a dumb ass. If you want to verify look it up. You would have learned this in 3rd grade geography.
The best part of this forum is you can go right back and look at how this debate started. Had nothing to do with Brent. Someone payed him a compliment and some people couldn't let it be. He was attacked, not the other way around.
Way to stick up for yourself Brent. It is not that I think Brent walks on water. But I do think he has the balls to guarantee what he is selling and call out the people that want to hide behind computer screens and bad mouth. Again, this was not started by Brent.

Well it's been awhile since I have visited this forum and I must say that it has gotten completely off topic. Besides that fact, I have done some research and I have researched Mr. Ottosen and watched some of his videos. Very impressive stuff from all angles. Love the way his dog's work! Good for you Mr. Ottosen on standing your ground. Makes me proud to be part of the hound hunting community.
As for Larry.......oh Larry Larry Larry. You f*&^in shit talkin coward! It's guys like you that stick your noses in where they don't belong only needing one thing to happen....break the son of a bitch!
I would like to take make personal side bet of $1500 to the winning dog(s). One catch, you have to put it towards your breeding program. This will be in writing and this is to promote keeping these bloodlines around. Regardless of who's program benefits. Any taker's to match this bet?
Good luck gentlemen.....may the best stud dog(s) win!!!

Re: Best stud dog that you know?
I personally wish there was a annual reasonable competition for biggame studs and hounds. it is hard to compare the hounds period think about how much time you would need to travel and hunt with each stud enough to have a good feel for them and their off spring. almost impossible. it would help all the various biggame strains consolidate into better hounds. I personnally don't care who has the best hound, it's the hound I'm interested in. anyone who wouldn't breed to a better stud is a little nut's. don't we all strive for the best hounds possible? no one KNOWS who has the very best hounds we can guess but untill they are run on the same track on the same day side beside there's no proof. it's all reputation and hearsay. a good rep is built on something but not allways the best single stud. and often by the time that hound has spread enough pups around to really see the quality he's dead or damn near. but I suppose this is a if only dreamas most guys don't want to put there pride on the line in a even competition. and the coonhound competitions have left a bad taste in a lot off peoples mouths

Goerge , no excuses here I grew up on the west side I am curious as to where I have family that hunts for the timber companies on the west side .
I still think 10 K is unrealistic and if Brent you are serious you would make it so it would be a legitimate possibility for others to come play.

Re: Best stud dog that you know?
I'm sorry Brent for the way you have been questioned! I started the question who has the best stud dog that people know I didn't mean for people to talk crap about any ones dogs! Sorry again
Re: Best stud dog that you know?
thats the thing bluehound, brent works harder and hunts more and harder than anyone most of us know. anybody that has been around him knows that and i think thats why this post got so out of control because the people like us that know him and have hunted with him know what he and those dogs of his can do and took it personnel. its funny, the two who started this have not even hunted with him, and the one doesnt even know who he is. so why would you talk out your ass like that, i dont know? nessplott2 it wasnt your fault, good topic and now hopefully back to some stories of great stud dogs and there offspring likie it should of been the whole time.
Re: Best stud dog that you know?
Basically your deal sucks Brent, it is pretty well loaded to cover your ass. An unrealistic amount of money, thick country, and 6 or 7 more of yours or your buddies dogs, hmmmm.
I haven't declined your offer by any means, but we are gonnna do it right if its gonna be done.
1.Bones and my stud, no other help .
2. country open enough to actually judge what is going on, who is leading, first to tree, closest to the bear on the ground, then we'll jump it out and see which dog sticks closest and pulls more hair and puts it back up after the jump.
If Bones needs all that backup and can't handle it on his own, that should be an immediate forfiet, he is spose to be a bear dog isn't he???
C'mon Brent, lets do it fair, a mutually agreeable place, non biased judges and some paperwork to keep it legit and collectable. Doesn't seem like all that much to ask if yer willin to back this dog with 10K? But you"ll stick to your deal and call me a coward. Big waste of my time.

Re: Best stud dog that you know?
Buddy damn it I asked you to kick me off this thing.-----------------------------------Larry why in the hell would a guy who catches well over 200 bears a year, year after year borrow dogs from anyone. And if he did I can assure you he wouldnt want mine. The reason I offered Wa. was already posted. YOU DIDNT HAVE TO DRAW!!!! And the reason I said 5 dogs was this subject is BEST STUD DOG THAT YOU KNOW? Watch the stud dogs make you look like a fool, then watch those he has sired make you look like a fool. Thats what makes a stud dog you idiot. From all the PMs some of us have received it sounds like you do a pretty good job of looken the fool all by yourself though. Your last post takes care that. A little word of advice dipshit YOU DONT MAKE OR JUDGE BEAR DOGS BY RUNNING IN OPEN COUNTRY. You dont catch many bear do ya. Jump em out huh. When you are confident your gonna putem back on the box and go get after another one you dont need to jumpem. And just where is this little paradise of open country and popups your talken about. Oh I know there are plenty of em out there but this is just your little last ditch effort to try to save face because you live in Montana so your next excuse is we cant do it here and oh ya I cant do it anywhere because I didnt get drawn. Its just the same old circle jerk except this time you couldnt weasle out. You had free gas free lic. free lodgeing. Everything but those phone#s of all those guys who laughed at Bones. Funny, because theres a pretty good list of guys from all over backen him though. Maybe they just dont let your buddys at the state mental hospital use the computer. What a clown. Someone missed a real good oppertunity when they didnt just flush you at about 2 months along. What the hell is that smell.--------------------PUSSY-------NEVER MIND JUST LARRY--------------Buddy. Please kick me off. My fingers are killen me. I dont know how the internet hunters hold up day after day.
Re: Best stud dog that you know?
that would be perfect larry. we could have it in a big cow pasture so your dog could see the bear and watch it go up the telephone pole just like the field trials. then if your dog wins you might even get a blue ribbon with your name on it and we could take a picture of you and your dog and put it in the local paper. but what happens if the bear stops in the cow pasture and turns around and your dog runs for the truck and bones gets a hold of the bear and stops it, would brent still get a ribbon even if the bear didnt make it to the tree? you got to be kidding! have you ever caught a bear by yourself before? i am starting to wonder by your comments.you are either retarded or must not have hunted much or havnt seen bears bay up in tuff country to figure out what it takes to be a bear dog like bones or his offspring.my guess all of the above.

Re: Best stud dog that you know?
So who doesn't think Larry is a dumbass? Looks like most the people on here agree. Larry should keep his mouth shut on stuff he knows nothing about.
Larry, just because your cull jumped the fence and knocked up the German Shepard next door doesn't qualify him as an entry for "Best Stud Dog That You Know."
If the hunt was completely on Larrys terms he still wouldn't show up. Just another blow hard flapping his gums. All his posts are completely useless.

Re: Best stud dog that you know?
Larry, I am sorry about calling your stud a cull. I know nothing about your stud dog.
Brent brought up a bet that you can not seem to come to terms on. That's fine. It is alot of money and you think it works in Brents favor.
So here is the bet, I bring a thousand dollars to the place of your choosing. I bring no dogs. I pay my own way, my own fuel, my own hotel, I will even buy the beer when the day is done. All you have to do is show me 3 different caught bears in one day. Bayed or treed either way. You have to use your stud and atleast two of his offspring. I will hunt three days in a row with you.
If you cannot show me 3 bears in one day, I leave with $1000 of your money. You don't even have to reimburse me for my expenses.
I know for fact Brent could pull this off. I have seen it done. So what is the problem with this wager? Catch two bear a day while I'm hunting with you and you can have my money.
Thats two bear each day or one three bear day. Different bears. No jumping them out to run again.
