Re: TURNING COLLARS OFF!!!
I sent 6 of them in, all are the same. Some I had the antenna replaced, some have the origional. I would sell them but they are my better half's deceased fathers' collars. He won't let me get rid of them for nostalgic reasons.
Re: TURNING COLLARS OFF!!!
I think Johnson make good collars until they need repaired then they never seem to get it right anymore.Had the same problem with distance on a couple collars sent back twice with letter explaining problem.Still can't use them unless dog is less than 400 yds.which never happens.
Re: TURNING COLLARS OFF!!!
i have 4 johnsons that are rebuilt and 1 new one and as far as i can tell they all work the same and i have never had any issues with any of them

Re: TURNING COLLARS OFF!!!
I used to run all Johnson collars, and liked them, had some refurbished and they were as good as new. I still think the new ones are good collars, but the last 4 or 5 I had refurbished were garbage just like Cassandra described. I also had a Wildlife collar that lost its range, I sent it in to get fixed and they sent it back supposedly all fixed, I could still hear the dog farther than I could beep it. All the newer West Coast collars I have had have been junk also, work good for a few months then loose all there range. I've been told that they all get there components from China anymore that the components aren't made in the USA and this is the problem, I don't know. I have a couple marshall collars and like them, but I also had one that the light started coming on whenever it wanted to, sent it back and they sent me a new one. I have a couple tracker strike collars, they are a cheap collar that I don't really like and hate the sound of the beep, but they work good.
I have come to the conclusion that when a collar needs rebuilt anymore I am going to get rid of it, because every brand I have had rebuilt in the last 3-4 years has been garbage after being rebuilt.

WOW, I just sent in 4 magnum collars to be rebuilt and they are better than ever, 45 bucks ea. how do ya beat that. I bought 3 johnson collars a few years ago on the 100$ summer sale and have had issues with them. Kinda like women I guess, ya can't live with them and ya can't live without em.
