By the way catch, I don't see on this board where you've posted anything other than a slam against ole Ike......you got a name or just an attitude

I have nothing to prove to you or anyone else. I'm just a faceless, nameless hound hunter that has been at it long enough to call BS when I hear it. All I'm trying to do is save the children and beginners on this forum from chocking to death on your smoke. LOL

I don't know your guys country or lion situation.BUT,on Bobcats here on the oregon coastal range of mountains,our dogs can srike off the rig and sometimes never move the track on the ground.

I have also rigged both lions and bobcats in Oregon that my trck straddler would boo at but could not line out. I have rigged lions in August in the dust and the dry dirt. I lost some and caught some.

Maybe Catch should show us all how he does it,post some pics and tell some stories.MAYBE Catch should try to make a post that will help others understand what a pro he is, so we can understand what exactly he contributes to this resource called biggame houndsmen.Any one on here that thinks a dog can't rig on a cat either hasn't hunted that long or has not been lucky enough to own a dog that will.I have spent more than enough money finding dogs that can move track in the dirt and got lucky getting a dog that WILL rig cats.This may seem over the top for most,and it was for me also until this walker dog named Kate was lucked on to.She has proved herself over and over to me and I now believe in that dogs voice more than any other hound i have ever had.

Drytail if I have offended you in some way I'm sorry. I have not said anywhere rigging a cat is not possible. I have never called myself a Big game Hounds man either. I'm just a hunter that uses dogs from the dog pound to catch very little game. I do have a license in Nevada and would like to see Kate in action on bare ground or snow. I'm always interested in good dogs and love to watch them work. I like to hunt different places also. Take care and maybe we can hook up next weekend or so.

Glad to see that rockcreek is still such a master with his words.Just because I asked for some helpful hints and made a reply to someone else about bashing fellow houndsmen does not meen i think im a pro rockcreek.If you guys don't like what people have to say the don't listen if you you have some advice or enjoy the sport then speek up.I will make it clear now that i have have not been runnin dogs as long as most of you but i don't understand why most of you are so quik to criticize.This post was made in effort to get ideas about keeping my hounds in the hills longer not start any fights.

lke, i dont know you from joe but i think you get so many negative attacks because of how you come accross. I will try to explain what i mean. Like when you posted about the two old timers that got you going in hounds and how they have been doing it so long, then the next sentence you say something like " i bet they never owned a pack of dogs like mine" Or when you rate the level of difficulty in lion hunting from snow hunting being the easiest to rigging lions being the hardest way. And you always say that right before you tell us how your whole box riggs lions. You seem to me to pretty much always be bragging about yourself even if you are trying to be helpful. Also you say rigging lions is the hardest way to catch lions well if your dogs do rig lions, how hard is it to drive around listening to the radio all day till you rig one. Kinda like snow hunting, drive around till you cut a track. Not like its something you did to train dogs to rig lions. You allways make yourself look like you are better than others because you rig lions when in all reallity you probably dont hunt near as hard as some of the people that dont have the luxury of rigging lions.

Hey Ike your comments and stories are always appriecated. If you let what other people think and say get to you, We would have a bunch of cb rambos with nothing of worth being said. keep on keepen on. Just rember at the end of the day its all about the dogs and nothing else.
