The Best Bear Men
The thread on the cat hunting page has been very interesting, I've never met any of those men but have heard several names of both men and dogs. So I thought it would be interesting to hear about some Bear Men.

I have one for the best bear man but instead of a man this will be a women, I have hunted hounds for 23 years and hunted with many but the best bearhunter i have ever hunted with would be my sister-in-law bobbie Stirek. This girl is one of the toughest there is. Bobbie is the kind of person u want to hunt with she is the first to have her gear on and gun ready it dont matter if the bear is treed our on the ground. U hear about all these great men that are hound doggers but the women are few and far between so my vote goes to one of the best and one of my hunting partners Bobbie Stirek.

She had two awesome teachers in her dad,Bob Gallaher, who also taught me alot, and Joe Hughes and I am glad to have her cause she does know her bear hunting and bear habits. She would also get my vote as the hardest best bear hunter I know. You guys that keep trying to get me to move to states where bear hunting is open must not want me to ever see her,its bad enough she gets to go on the rez.LOL
The other person who taught me and so many others in the northwest was Earl Cisco.Even when he first started going blind we could be driving along down in the Promised Land and he would ask me if I was gonna check that track I just drove by.Even when he finally was pretty much all the way blind he still knew each dog by rubbing their heads and still knew every voice.I was honored when he retired and gave me the last of his dogs.

I'll throw one in here Sam Faulk, never met the man but I have talked with him and hunted with some of his dogs, this is a man who's number of bears caught can speak for lt's self, and not only in his home state but all over the country!!!!!!

Re: The Best Bear Men
I believe in my case I`d say the 2 hardest most serriouse was Harland Maxxwell and Bob Sage and the smartes 2 was Buckey Stone and Roger Stewart/ all nothern ca hunters/ but there was others who was really up there Carl Horner ,JD Pearson, Raymond Coatney, Mr. Beeman ,Don Poore,Rick Summers is right up there too/ all ca. Iknew thesr men in ca. and there was lots of others it was a large area and ya can`t know em all ! But I would love too set and listen at any polaberens they was haven and knowed each had a sure nuff beardog/ Roger Steward said it best/just would bragg ya know ; he said ol Jill really isent a bear dog and I know what one is from isen`t/but shes caused a lot of bear oo loose their lives though !?hahahahabearbaito6 wrote:The thread on the cat hunting page has been very interesting, I've never met any of those men but have heard several names of both men and dogs.
