The Best Bear Men

Post by bearbaito6 »

The thread on the cat hunting page has been very interesting, I've never met any of those men but have heard several names of both men and dogs. So I thought it would be interesting to hear about some Bear Men.

I have one for the best bear man but instead of a man this will be a women, I have hunted hounds for 23 years and hunted with many but the best bearhunter i have ever hunted with would be my sister-in-law bobbie Stirek. This girl is one of the toughest there is. Bobbie is the kind of person u want to hunt with she is the first to have her gear on and gun ready it dont matter if the bear is treed our on the ground. U hear about all these great men that are hound doggers but the women are few and far between so my vote goes to one of the best and one of my hunting partners Bobbie Stirek.

She had two awesome teachers in her dad,Bob Gallaher, who also taught me alot, and Joe Hughes and I am glad to have her cause she does know her bear hunting and bear habits. She would also get my vote as the hardest best bear hunter I know. You guys that keep trying to get me to move to states where bear hunting is open must not want me to ever see her,its bad enough she gets to go on the rez.LOL
The other person who taught me and so many others in the northwest was Earl Cisco.Even when he first started going blind we could be driving along down in the Promised Land and he would ask me if I was gonna check that track I just drove by.Even when he finally was pretty much all the way blind he still knew each dog by rubbing their heads and still knew every voice.I was honored when he retired and gave me the last of his dogs.

Dave Malm is without a doubt the best houndsmen ever. Way better than beardogger or bearbait ;-)
