Postby BULLDOGGER » Fri Mar 28, 2008 3:46 pm

I was looking through a full cry the other day and saw an artile on how to build your own horn. I followed the derections step by step the horn looks good but what is the key to blowing them.

:) lol heres my chance to sound real stupid

you have to press lips together against the small end- and blow--

vibration of lips makes the sound-- same as a trumpet --
when the tailgate drops

is like, but most horn-like instruments require you to suck your lips into your mouth and make a buzz by forcing the air out hard. You can practice by blowing raspberries on the back of your hand.
The pitch will be higher if you force the air harder.
It is usually tricky to figure out exactly the right technique for a new instrument but easy once you've got the feel of what works.
