Oops! They will tell you by breed what your dogs lineage is. Have any of you guys running crossbreed dogs ever tried it? My best dog was picked up as a pup at a trash dump!

Agree Mike!!
Re: DNA?
Mike I wish they'd start a registry like the American Bucking Bull Inc. At a year old or so you send in DNA, they send you papers back. They will tell you who the parents are and if they don't have them registered its added with a unknowns behind it.

DNA?
You guys have a very valid point. My reason for wanting to know is this little gal is one helluva bobcat dog and I'd like to make some more just like her if I could.

Can you or have you hunted with her father and grandfather? I would breed to the one she is most like if possible. Dewey
Re: DNA?
Mike I'm unsure of why exactly its done that way. My feelings are it would take out any doubt's of back handed breeding and you'd know exactly what your getting. I would think Shorty Gorham might have some insight.

Dewey,
She was picked up at a dumpster when she was a tiny pup We don't know what she is. She appears to be half running walker but no clue to the other part. She has a brother that I have never seen but am told he looks purebred walker and is a very good fox dog. If I could find him I've considered making a brother/sister breeding

DNA?
Kind of side tracked but is there a DNA test you can buy to collect at home and send off to get the results of whom a sire might be. I was considering on taking my gyp and my father in laws two males to the Maury show and having it done there but my gyp is shy around crowds. On a serious note one of my hog dogs got bred and I'm not sure what dog is the sire, she is yeller and 3/4 BMC 1/4 BLK/TN, all of her pups come out yeller and there's 3 possibilities of what the sire might be one being a full blood YBMC male or a red male cur or the mailman ( who happens to be a roaming black lab). I could be wrong bc genetics are a funny thing but u figured if the mailman had got to her at least one of the pups would be showing the black genes, being as she is 1/4 BLK/tn her self. Anyone care to ellaborate?

Read my original post. That was my question but it got hijacked. Jefferspet.com has the test kit. My question was has anyone tried it.
