The bigger boars are the nicer ones to run. Dont give ya much of a chase, its usally those 2-3yr old ones that like to give ya a little run.
Thanks, guess my buddies ran 2 different bears yesterday. One of them was a huge bear that they never got a look at. Gave them the slip somehow. The next bear they saw and turned loose on and was a little runner and they lost it. A lot of the dogs were sore from the day before. All the dogs ran at least 5 miles and my buddies dog Ellen and mine (Belle) ran closer to 8+. All this is coming off of the Astro 220. Lot of miles but they did good.

really??? Seems that alot of you guys say the big ones are easy and the little are tough, but alot of little bears get shot and everyone calls BS when someone claims a 500lb'r! You do the math

From personal experience so far its the little ones that are hard to catch, unless you get some rain or dew, something to leave more scent. Its the little ones that are built like horses that are hard to cath. The big ones can be hard if they dont want to tree, but they sometimes seem to tree fast if you get a fresh strike. We struck one this weekend, or I guess friday that may have been a male and female and they eventually split because the 2 main dogs of my buddies split and 3 dogs went one way and 3 the other, we eventually lost both. After heading out of the woods we jumped a small one and we treed that one and left it. My buddy has a really good dog, she can tree bear by herself, I dont like to admit it but he has raised her since a pup and she can do it all on Lions, Bears, Bobcats, coons, you name it. My female is starting to strike pretty good, my male still needs work but is going to come around I think. My pup goes to the tree with us everytime, he has been twice, he saw the last big bear we shot. This little one we chased was on one of the steepest hills Ive been on that wasnt a cliff and treed in a big pine tree. The pup made the whole hike through some of the thickest stuff that you would of thought we were on the damn coast. Thanks to everyone for watching my videos and for the comments, my buddy needs all the thanks and comments though, he's young but has helped me a $hit load
