I can see where this could be the first step in totally controlling what we do in the woods from where we can ride our horses and where we can camp and what we can do.. And I damm sure don't like loosing any of my freedom.

iT'S ALOT EASIER TO WEED ONE USER GROUP OUT AT A TIME IF YOUR GOAL IS TO ELIMINATE PEOPLE FROM THE BACKCOUNTRY. Years ago I remember not supporting cattle on public range, then I got a little older and realized that when we start removing one user by claiming they don't belong then the other people's use is hard to support as well. Personally, if the government is going to run me and my hounds off the mountain then why should I care if deer and elk hunters follow? Multiple use means just what it says, and as we eliminate one user know the others may follow.......

multiple users mean more than one groups ability to utilize a area to their enjoyment or benefit. so if you let of road users drive all over a mountain destroying the top soil and vegetation that takes the hunters all the hunters out of the user group. roads that are planned and maintained are one thing. off road travel another. now if any tom dick or harry from the city that has a trailer full of quads can come out and tear the shit out of a mountain whats left. I know and everyone else does that a family on quads are going the same places the kids are having fun fish tailin and spinnin the tires a bit and probably dad will pop the throttle from time to time as well. now why are they wantin to ride in these new areas? because the designated areas are dust bowls with a few rutted out hills and so many riders it just isn't the same. SO THEY RIDE IN THE FOREST AND DO THE SAME THING TO IT. if your guiding for big game I would think you would be prepared to retrieve the game. YES I know what a bitch it can be to make four or five trips through god knows what to get it out. however isn't that part of the experience? People cherish those things that cost them the most. just like was said busting your ass to get to the top of a mountain looses its achievement value when you can hop on a atv and run right up there. what would happen if they put a escalator in the Himalayas, whats that going to do for the experience?

Ike, your point is well taken when it comes to multiple use on our public lands. I will agree that it is much like a house of cards. I feel that the enforcement of the already established laws is somewhat lackadaisical and the result has forced more stringent rules. It is happening all over the west and most of it is due to ATV users blazing trails into road less areas. When the sign says no motorized vehicles beyond this point, then that’s what it means. The boys and I went to a local motorcycle track the other day as the weather has been getting nice and things are starting to dry out. This track is on private grounds and has no fee access. We try and pick the trash up as much as possible. It’s a loosing battle and I can see that in the future this place will be locked off to everyone. How many places have you seen where people sight in their guns and leave every bit of trash they brought, right where they unloaded it? My point is, people need to be held accountable for their actions. I will guarantee that once law enforcement is showing a presence, the actions of some will come to a halt. I contend that it is not only law enforcements job, it’s ours as well to put a stop to these type of misuses.
