KING OF WHAT? King of England? Ha Ha Ha! The West? Ha Ha!

Now that is some funny stuff!

I will say one thing he is the King of marketing. I have a fellow that went hunting with me just this past weekend. He paid the King big money to pick him a pup I mean $3500. and then is paying him $500. a month to train this dogs and he has 11 monthes into it and he is suppose to be training it to trail dry ground mountain lions. Ha! Ha! in McCall, Idaho over the past 11 monthes? Ok I know he is great on bear and snowmobile bobcats but with all that going on how much time does he have to run to the bare ground these winter months that have gone on? I mean where Montana. Not!, Owayhee desert, Not been plenty of snow....but he is cashing the checks so he is a marketer. And I guess if you are the KING you might have servants available to run the dogs to the desert to train them.

I will guarantee you one thing I would be proclaiming him the KING if I was paying him to do that and anybody found out. LOL!

I have no doubt he is tops on bear that country is alive with them I have been there
but the West is a whole lot more than Idaho.

Good stuff, keep the laughes coming................Once upon a time there were three bears, a Daddy bear, a Mommy bear and a little bitty baby bear....LOL!!!

So Ottosen has ben hunting and breeding for less than ten years. His videos are a class act. Johnny should have never helped him.

First off Mr. Cobalt (If I'm correct... I showed you the country and helped you get Mike Evans dogs back when he lost them for a few days down here in this country), we are talking best stud dog here. If you have a 10 year old stud dog that can do what Bones has done and still does and consistantly reproduces dogs that are his caliber and better... I pat you on the back. Dogs like him are VERY far and few between. My Dad had a plott dog that was of Bones' caliber, problem is, he only bred but once -on accident- making him not worthy of me putting him on here. These are the dogs that no matter what the conditions, size of the bear, or how mean the bear is, you have (and in Magnum's case- had-) just as much extreme confidence that you will catch that bear with just that dog as you do if you had the whole pack out there.
As for the videos... If you ever had the opportunity to see with your own eyes what them dogs really do vs. watching the little bit of video on his website. You'd probably about s**t yourself. I've seen it with my own eyes in the woods numerous times. What I'm really saying is that his videos are nothing compared to the real deal.
Yea, i'd really like to know how Johnny helped him out too! I recall videoing Johnny shoot a nice 300lb sow full of holes that was sitting in a tree. Under that tree were 3 dogs, every single one of them belonged to BRENT! There was more times than that that Johnny called upon Brent to fill his tag or get a bear on the ground stopped. Not saying there is anything wrong with that (I've lacked dog power before and it sucks), I just know that Brent has helped Johnny, how did Johnny help Brent? But again... that has nothing to do with best stud dog.

As a matter of fact ,Cobalt does have a pretty damn fine stud dog and he has had enough litters to verify it too.I don't think his stud dog walks on water or tree's the roughest bears on planet earth consistently by himself, but he is the type that almost anyone would be proud to own. He's one of those dogs that consistently is able to pull a rabbit out of the hat.Anytime that he is on the ground there is a damn good chance you are going to be walking to a tree.

Good for Cobalt then. Not everyone is lucky enough to own outstanding dogs that proove themselves in the woods and in their offspring. I'm not on here talking s**t about anyone or their dogs.. like I said... If he has a dog like Bones...I pat him on the back... The question asked was whose the best stud do you know... So I put down the best stud dogs I know and why. You can bet on the fact that if someone else had a better stud dog, that I personally knew, than the 3 of Brent's... I would have posted their names instead. Fact is... I don't know of any better dogs. I know of a whole bunch of great hounds, but none that are better.

what does it matter if Brent has only been breeding for ten years or 40 years? i think hes got it figured out. jealousy from someone in the post above? maybe. the post is about proven stud dogs. when he can take a bunch of one year old dogs out of the three stud dogs plotthoundgirl mentioned and catch 2-3 bears a day, day after day in the same place where guys are hunting and are not catching , thats not luck. i think anybody that has hunted with him very much will verify that. that has been proven litter after litter from those dogs so i would have to say that makes them good stud dogs.

Sounds like you need to get out more

I don't think Cobalt is jealous at all mel. He's probably just rolling on the floor laughing when he saw this list. I think theres some guys on this board that have seen bones hunt, and were embarrassed for him.
