Re: i quit
Men its not totally the fish and games fault about hound hunting, In 1996 voters banned hound hunting so thank your neighbors and other washingtonians, the fish and game is ordered by our lawmakers to outlaw it, just like the lawmakers told them to have a cougar hound season in some counties, so the real bosses are legislators and you have a right to talk to yours if you would like to gripe do it to them cause they have the power to change things!

Like I said, good luck. Voters... more tree huggers than houndsmen. Saddly.

Piglet is right. The game dept cannot do whatever they want. Talk to your legislators, don't just sit behind your computer complaining. Attend the Wildlife Commission meetings. Listen to the game dept and there opinion on the benefits of hounds for the management of cougars and your opinion might be a little different. It will take legislative action to change the way it is. And we lost our hunting after I-655, not because the game dept took it from us.

i have been to meetings, all im saying is they cant leave it up the public if the game dept wants us back out there like they say when your talking to them face to face. they to also need to make a stand but instead they just roll over. this state is all about money i mean really are the legislators that blind
Re: i quit
Hey guys right now as we speak the bill has been written to legislation to make our cougar hunt a TOOL. In other words it will become a managed species for the dept. To control as they see fit. A lot of guys are complaining that we are only fighting for the cats. But we have to take baby steps here. And remember we are slowly gaining more than Oregon. I believe we are heading the right direction. As long as our great governor doesn't mess up the dept. The two guys in charge of our predators seems to support the hounds. We just need to keep our nose straight and not mess this up.

well said
Re: i quit
The game dept, does infact use hounds for depredation in wa. I ran quite a few bears last summer, and strongly feel that maintaining a good relationship between the dept and honest no b.s. houdsmen who obey the law is the only way to get our hunting back. Or atleast to give us the chance to run a bit.
